I recently came upon a declassified document from the Department of Defense written in 1983. At the top are these words:“Approved For Release 2003/09/10 : CIA-RDP96-00788R001700210016-5 DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY US ARMY OPERATIONAL GROUP US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY COMMAND FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, MARYLAND 20755′ and dated ‘IAGPC-O 9 June 1983.”
Through comprehensive analysis, Commander Wayne M. McDonnell meticulously details the extensive research and analysis undertaken to fully grasp this process for altering human consciousness through brain hemisphere synchronization. In his introduction, McDonnell outlines biomedical factors impacting related techniques such as hypnosis and biofeedback, suggesting their potential to expedite engagement with the process. But quoting physicist Niels Bohr, he underscores the necessity for logic and intuitive insight in understanding altered human consciousness.
It’s important to note that McDonnel also makes it a point to eliminate occult connotations to ensure compatibility with diverse religious beliefs. By reframing the process within the realm of theoretical physics, it avoids conflicting with religious teachings that may prohibit engagement with occult practices. In other words, McDonnell’s careful avoidance of occult or dogmatic judgments ensures that the process’s potential impact on belief systems, particularly in relation to concepts like belief in God, is addressed in a manner that assures its compatibility with mainstream beliefs. Ultimately, while recognizing the study’s non-definitive nature, he expresses hope that its structure and concepts will provide valuable guidance for personnel engaging with similar materials or undergoing training, without infringing upon their religious beliefs or convictions.
The document explains technicalities using complex diagrams that I encourage you to study it yourself. However, I’ll summarize some of the more intriguing findings of McDonnell’s research, which directly align with the practice of shamanism—knowledge that ancient cultures understood thousands of years ago.
These include practices like meditation, out-of-body experiences, problem-solving, and the pursuit of self-knowledge. But for me, one of the most intriguing aspects highlighted in the document is, and I quote, “the encounter with non-corporeal energy forms beyond time-space boundaries.” For those familiar, this is an extremely important part, deeply connected with shamanic beliefs in the existence of spirits or energies that transcend physical limitations.
In my own personal experiences as a practitioner, I’ve encountered many deeply religious individuals who, upon learning about my work, express concerns that “shamanism” is associated with the devil and/or conflicts with their religious beliefs. However, McDonnel’s research illustrates a clear distinction between shamanic practices and religious beliefs. In fact, raised as a Catholic myself, I’ve always said that there are fundamental differences that actually allow them to complement each other. Just as this scientific research seeks to understand consciousness and explore its potential, shamanism offers ancient wisdom and techniques for connecting with the spiritual aspects of consciousness.
Recognizing the parallels between modern scientific research and ancient shamanic practices, perhaps more people can appreciate the depth of human knowledge and the diverse paths to understanding human consciousness. The fusion of science and spirituality in this declassified document opens up the potential to reach a much larger audience as to the very real possibilities for personal growth, healing, and the exploration of the mysteries of existence—concepts that defy easy comprehension through linear thinking alone. However, in the exploration of these ideas, a blend of logic and right-brain intuitive insight is essential to fully grasp their meaning.
The document lays out a sound, rational basis grounded in physical science parameters, making the shamanism not merely an esoteric concept but a plausible path toward profound objectives. It suggests that intuitive insights, both personal and professional, are well within reach, defying conventional limitations.
This convergence of magic and science offers a transformative journey into the depths of human consciousness empowers individuals to shamanism’s potential for personal growth and exploration. By utilizing techniques such as enhanced brain focus, hemisphere synchronization through drumming, and deep autohypnotic states, we unlock the door to enhanced perception, self-healing, and spiritual balance. So, what may seem like magic is, in fact, is a blend of ancient wisdom and cutting-edge science, offering us the keys to unlock our true potential.
Don’t believe me? Here’s the link to that very document—straight from the CIA’s own website:
